‘Know Yourself Through Your Eyes and Art'

At the end of 2022, I started taking online art classes with my students and it was a very interesting experience for both of us.
For parents, they think that online classes seem inefficient compared to offline classes where the teacher can instruct and interact with students instantly and the classroom atmosphere is more active than in front of a screen. As an art teacher, I can understand the parents' concerns and worries, but I was curious to see if I could work in harmony with these lovely and talented students.
Today, I would like to share one of the meaningful projects called 'Know Yourself Through Your Eyes and Art'. Most children under the age of 7 rarely observe their character traits or can't even describe their five senses in words. So the first thing to do is to have the children each hold a small mirror to verbalize what they look like then use the simplest, most direct lines to depict themselves.

Nuoyi wu, age5

yining sun , age 6

leshu tao , age 6

jiayi han, age 5.5

The portrait rights of the above children have been approved by themselves and their parents. Thanks to the above four children and their parents for their support and willingness to share their children's work with us.

I hope this project will continue so that children can learn more about themselves through art!
