Teaching Overview
On a chill weekend, 9 classes of students (age 6-7)and I went to a park rich in trees and old buildings. , we chose the tower gazebo as the drawing object which was a big difference from the classroom lessons. Especially for young children, it's very challenging to observe the outlook and details of the pavilion and even harder to describe the image on paper.
Shuttle Pavilion, Linglong Park, Beijing
When I gave simple guidance on the creating process, students were so thrilled to express themselves with different materials and forms. and I encouraged them to add some unique stories to connect with the building and they can treat the process as a game to show their talent. After around two hours, I was surprised by their outcomes and felt so proud of their confidence and patience based on their young age.
I always say that ' every child is an artist', children always see things from different perspectives and keep colorful eyesight towards the world and I believe in my students always.
