Art Teaching blog(5)- Horse Racing

Horse racing, one of the oldest competitive sports, is characterized by its speed and intense movements. In our class, we designed a comprehensive form of art creation and the Children(aged 6-8.5) show a big interest in this sports topic. 

Firstly, we watched the related documentary of horse racing in order to understand the historical  development and characters of this sports. After that, we guided children to analyze the necessary elements of this sport, which includes horse, horseman, referee，and audiences. we talked about the amplitude of the movements of the horse when they were running , especially with a high speed , and once the competition enters a  climactic part, what is the behaviors of the audiences.And then, we encouraged students to conceive a study about horse racing and think about how to illustrate it . Lastly, children picture them with various art materials and share their artworks in their art park.
