Overview

Diary painting is one of the forms of children's emotional expression, which is based on children's original art, and most directly and purely shows children's inner world.

Children's graffiti and improvisation in daily life can be called "diary painting", which is one of the forms in which children express their ideas with the help of schemas, symbols, colors, words and other elements, which can be the depiction of original stories, the expression of emotions, and the reproduction of objects after children's reorganization; It is not limited to the expression of children's second-dimensional space on paper with the help of painting media, it can also express children's thoughts and ideas with the help of collage, paper cutting, kneading and other forms. With the maturity of children's minds and the continuous improvement of their cognitive level, they will have their own unique methods and insights on the form of diary painting, which is an important part of children's aesthetic education.

Taking children aged 6.5-8.5 as an example, in the teaching process, we will find that many students take painting as their own entertainment, and in the process of painting, they are very emotionally focused and tireless in their own creation. When children introduce their works to everyone, they become very excited and eager to share their happiness with everyone.

The diary painting depicts visitors queuing up at the children's playground, showing tourists taking pictures, children lying upside down in high-altitude amusement facilities, and birds feeding each other on trees, reflecting the student's keen observation ability and concentration. In my communication with this student, I learned that she often carries a diary and painting materials with her, and paints at any time during meals, between classes, etc. This girl has a gentle and generous personality, her parents give affirmation to each of her works and unconditionally support her artistic creation, from her picture color performance, we can feel warmth and pleasure, just like the character of this girl.

These two diary paintings are the life memory paintings of a 7.5-year-old child, showing his holiday life and campus life, the left is the image of memory after visiting the Terracotta Warriors, the clumsy lines have firm strength, and the headdress, facial features, and overall form of the painting reflect the student's keen observation ability and perception and memory of the image; On the right, after receiving a letter of commendation at school, this student reveals his joy after winning the award through a simple picture, which is a way for children to express their emotions through painting.

The impact of diary drawing on children's development:

1. Promote children's language skills and communication skills. Children need to think about how to organize the picture when expressing the content of the diary drawing. In the process, they need to conceive and manage their materials, and when sharing their works with others, they need to use language to convey ideas to others.

2. Enrich children's inner world and improve their personality. In the process of diary painting creation, children are easy to swim in their world and dialogue with their hearts. They are inclined to be an ' interesting ' person through enriching their colorful mindset and developing an optimistic attitude towards life.

3. Enhance children's curiosity, stimulate children's desire to express, and enrich the form of artworks. Once the habit of diary painting is formed, children will be excited to express themselves through images when they have new ideas, stimulating them to observe things from multiple angles and even add their imagination to give things a new look.
